On September 13th, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) captured 23 individuals involved in burning homes in Saitaung village, Hpakant. These individuals were reportedly dispatched by the military to destroy civilian properties in Kachin State.
The situation escalated following clashes between the KIA, the junta, and the Shan Nationalities Army that began on September 11th and continued until September 13th. During these clashes, homes were set on fire. The KIA seized control of the Saitaung police station on September 12th, prompting a retreat by the junta, which then intensified its arson campaign.
The military bombed Nanbo village with aircraft, resulting in the deaths of 5 civilians and injuring 8 others

The junta’s airstrikes on Nanbain village, located near Theinni District in northern Shan State, resulted in five civilian deaths and eight injuries. According to the MNDAA (Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army), the airstrikes struck residential areas around 7:00 p.m. on September 13th, with three of the injured reported to be in critical condition.
On the same day, the junta also conducted airstrikes in Naungcho Township and Myawaddy Township in Kayin State.
