List of Defections and Arms Surrendered

In one week, 25 military junta members defected, and 9 were arrested as military prisoners.

According to records compiled by the People’s Defense Force (PDF), a total of 34 individuals, including military junta soldiers, police, and members of the People’s Defense Force, were arrested during the third week of May. These individuals were arrested for involvement in arms dealing, illegal activities, and other criminal offenses.

The individuals arrested in the third week of May included 24 military junta soldiers from Shan, Sagaing, Tanintharyi, and Chin States, as well as one police officer from Chin State. Among them, 6 were new recruits to the military.

Those arrested as part of the ongoing operations were four soldiers from the military junta in Shan and Chin States, and five members of the People’s Defense Force from Tanintharyi Region.

Since January 2025 through the third week of May, a total of 1,116 military junta personnel, police officers, and militia members have been arrested, according to the People’s Defense Force report.
