- The People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) continues to capture key military bases of the military regime, one after another, as part of its campaign to dismantle the military junta.
- On the morning of April 28, 2024, the military base at Wa Po Kya village in the Shwe Kyauk Township was fully captured.
- During this battle, 11 members of the military junta, including Deputy Brigade Commander Tin Ko (Teza 28), were killed. Additionally, 15 junta soldiers were taken prisoner, and a significant amount of weaponry, including 19 small arms and one 60mm mortar, was seized.
- The People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) sustained no casualties during the battle at Wa Po Kya village.
- The People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) has also captured another small junta base within the Shwe Kyauk Township.
- Furthermore, intense daily battles continue in the vicinity of Tharyakone village in the Naung Cho Township, with ongoing airstrikes from the military junta.
