Battle News Release : May 12, 2024

• On May 12, 2024, at approximately 2:00 PM, a clash occurred between the People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) and the military junta near Tharyarkone Village as the junta launched an offensive.

• Despite the junta’s use of ground forces and heavy artillery, the attack was repelled, and they retreated around 3:50 PM without advancing further.

• During the battles, it was observed that the junta frequently used toxic gas bombs and incendiary grenades.
